This carbonation lid can greatly decrease carbonation time. There are three different methods commonly used to carbonate beer. (Please note there is no beer line or air stone included in this sale.you need to work out how long beer line you need and what size of the air stone you need to do the beer carbonation)
-The set and forget method. Recommended. Simply use a chart or tool to input the beer at desired temperature with desired volume of CO2. Adjust your regulator to the PSI setting it tells you to and wait. This gives your beer time to mature and the CO2 will stop carbonating once it reaches an equilibrium. This method places a layer of CO2 on top of your beverage, as the beverage absorbs the CO2 carbonation slowly. This is fool proof method but takes a few weeks for most styles.
-The shake method, rattle and roll. Not recommended. Crank your gas up. Put the keg on it’s side and roll it around. This pushes large bubbles of CO2 into contact with more surface area very aggressively. Problem is, you do not know how much CO2 you are forcing in and can overshoot your target volume. It also can leave an undesired “green” or “carbonic bite” taste.
-Carbonation lid method. Highly recommended. By installing this lid with stone attached you can achieve a very fast carbonation time. Just like the set and forget method adjust your beer temperature and regulator to the desired settings. This method works fast because the stone breaks the CO2 up and injects tiny bubbles with huge amounts of surface area directly into your beer. Instead of making a blanket on top of it like the set and forget method. It will carbonate a five gallon keg overnight.
